SLISBA has partnered with and received support from SEQUA to host a series of training programs and capacity building initiatives over the past few months.  Most of those activities have resulted in improved effectiveness of the small, medium and micro enterprise sector.
SEQUA gGmbH is a German Agency which has been involved in Implementing the Economic Diversifications and Private Sector Development Program (PSDP) on behalf of the European Commission.  The program’s overall objective is to increase the competitiveness of St. Lucia’s economy and to integrate the country into the regional and global economy by comprehensively developing its private sector.
Following are some of the areas in which SEQUA gGmbH has offered assistance:
BUSINESS OWNERS BUILDING RESILIENCE IN TOUGH ECONOMIC  CIRCUMSTANCES  - This workshop was  held on 10 and 11 August, 2010 at the Belle Jour Hotel at La Panse from 8.30 am to 4.00 p. m for those members who operate in the North of the island.   The workshop was Coordinated Mr. Hilton Jn Baptiste and Mr. Martin Satney with sponsorship from Sequa and SLISBA.   This same workshop was held in Vieux-Fort at the Spartan’s University for the members in the south.

SME Tool Box Training (Business Plan Pro & Marketing Plan Pro)
 This workshop was held on 15th and 16th of September, 2010 at the SLDB Training Room.  The workshop was facilitated by Mr. Wayne Auguste.

Financial Management Workshop

This Workshop was held on the 2nd to 4th, October at the Sub Office District 7 Choiseul. This same workshop was also held at Cultural Development Foundation on October 7th – 9th, 2010.

SLISBA INTERNET FACILITY

Sequa has also supported the establishment of an internet facility which will be available for the use of members and the general public, at a nominal cost.  The internet facility will be officially launched in December!
